10 ways to reduce stress

10 ways to reduce your stress – Stress every day is common and we all suffer from this dreaded stress.

Everyday stress is commonplace and we all have to deal with it. No matter who you are or what you do in your life there are going to be times when you are stressed. There are also going to be times when your stress is going to be off the charts.overcoming stress

I just want to explain about a technique that I use every day which I also teach my clients to implement into their routine every day to reduce stress.

How many of you have already heard of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)?

Thankfully since I have been using and teaching EFT there has been an increase in awareness which I am so pleased about.

Used for over 5000bc it is an amazing tool and easy to learn.  Acupuncture without the needles is one of the descriptions used to describe EFT, many of my client’s Testimonials describe it as amazing and unbelievable.

What can you use EFT for?

The saying goes ‘use it on everything’ which is true but most people think it can only be used for major events and therefore cannot think what to use it for.

I always encourage my clients to use it every day for the small thing in their lives.  If used on the small things then big things have less chance of appearing. Small things I mean are things that cause you to have a negative emotional response to an event that is either happening or your memory of something that has happened in the past.  The past can be yesterday or 10 years ago, the past is not now.10 ways to reduce stress

  • Some of the everyday things to tap on:
  • Rushing to get out of the house in the morning.
  • Standing in a long line.
  • Getting cut up while driving.
  • Running of out of gas.
  • Kids being unruly
  • Feeling nervous about an interview
  • Boss putting you under pressure
  • Forgot to pick up the dry cleaning
  • Public Speaking
  • Deadlines
  • Relationships
  • Finances
  • Body Image

These are just a few but you can get the idea, I am sure when you think about what you go through on a day to day basis, you will come up with some more.

If you don’t deal with the small stuff on a day to day basis then everything builds up and you find yourself at peak stress every day. Then panic attacks.

A question I always ask my clients is

What is your daily stress level, 0 being none and 10 being high’,  Most people will answer somewhere between 5 and 9.  That stress level, starting your day off, does not leave too much wiggle room for exploding into a fit of anger, panic attack, violence, depression and so on. We should all be waking up to a zero stress level to start the day.

My point is EFT is a great tool and when used on a daily basis as part of your normal routine you can keep your stress levels under 3 which is not ideal but better than a 9 for starting every day. Try it…….

Let me know what EFT does for you and your family.  I have written books on EFT which you can view here.

Other Natural ways you can relieve your stress is to have lavender around which has many uses and I wrote in detail how it can help with stress here

Also, you can train your brain to relieve stress, easier than you may think!

I’ve heard of the EFT but have never actually tried it. I am, however, a huge fan of acupuncture and I think it’s fascinating that you’ve made the connection between this and acupuncture, but now I’m definitely interested in trying this out. Especially because it’s something you can do yourself in moments of stress.

I had never heard of this before! I usually drink herbal tea or smoke a cigarette if I am stressed and sometimes when it’s really bad I take anti anxiety medication. I will definitely have to give this method a try as I suffer from severe anxiety disorder. Frankly, if it might help it’s worth a shot in my case. I may also try this for my son if it helps me. Thanks for the information!!

Herbal Tea is excellent for stress and all natural methods do not have any side effects. I am sure your son would benefit also. I have used EFT with many people throughout the years and had great success, if you need some help I do SKype sessions all over the world. Thanks for your comments.

Interesting. I’ve never heard of EFT before! This almost reminds me of a massage therapy but instead of kneading, a person taps instead. I’ll have to remember this whenever my sinuses act up. I tend to drink warm teas to ease stress and mental fatigue—take short naps at least.

Stress often leads to me getting sick easily, so I try to keep an even tone and go about daily life with as little stress as possible. This EFT method, though seems like an awesome approach. I gotta remember to try this.

The difference is you have to be in the negative emotional state while tapping using EFT. Massage can work on the meridians and is very good but unless you have the emotion at the same time the result is not as effective
