Interesting article, I have recently been diagnosed with an underactive thyroid so taking a b12 supplement would make sense to help give me an energy boost. Thanks for sharing

Yes there are many benefits to supplements. We do not get everything from our food these days so we have to supplement our diet to keep healthy.

    Hey Helen,

Nice informative article about B12. I didn’t know that the benefits it offers are so many.

Thankfully, I am eating everything in your list regularly, so I don’t believe that I would have some sort of deficiency problem.

Fruits or vegetables don’t have B12? Like carrots? Or am I wrong?

    Harry!

Hi Helen, thank you for sharing information about vitamin B12. I used to take it regularly but ran out and didn’t buy more. I didn’t really know why I was taking it, so I didn’t feel the need to keep taking it. I will definitely go buy some tomorrow, especially since I deal with anxiety almost daily.
Can you also tell me your thoughts on magnesium? Most people are very magnesium deficient and it can cause many symptoms as well, including worsening of depression and anxiety. I just started taking it today, so I will see how it goes. 🙂
    Thanks!

Hi Helen. I love vitamin B12. I take it every day, except today because I ran out. Your article is very informative and interesting. I write a blog called Stress Kickers, and you sparked an idea in my head to write about b12 because when you are full of energy, stress has less of a hold on you.
B12 is my pick me up when I do too much and don’t get enough sleep.
Thanks for the great post. Keith

You are so right. B12 is great for energy and to be used instead of some of the common energy drinks which are full of caffeine.

Nice post on vitamin b12! I ate vegan for almost two years and I know this was the one thing you could not get naturally except for in animal based foods. How often should you take this supplement?

You should take it daily and in the morning. As it is a bit of an energy boost you do not want to be taking it late afternoon or evening.

Great article Helen! I think I need some Vitamin B12 to lower my cholesterol. I do not take any vitamin now, but maybe I should start. However, I do remember taking vitamin b1 to prevent mosquitoes bites when I was traveling in South America.

Yes that is a possibility that B12 could contribute to lower cholesterol, you just need to look at your lifestyle and your diet and decide what vitamins you need to take for your health. Thanks for the comments.
